Hello and welcome to my corner of the web! I'm Nikola van Delft, a passionate runner, creative artisan, aspiring scientist, and Lego enthusiast. Born in Amsterdam, I've carried the city's vibrant culture with me, along with a love for Dutch cheese. Fluent in both Dutch and English, I am eager to explore new opportunities as I transition to college.
Since moving away, my life has been a blend of activity and creativity. I've been involved in my high school’s Cross Country and Track programs for all four years, developing not only physical resilience but mental stamina as well. Running is more than a hobby to me; it's a way to connect with nature and clear my mind.
Outside of athletic pursuits, I’ve found joy in knitting and crochet, hobbies that offer relaxation and satisfaction through tangible creations. My friends know me as someone who prefers engaging in conversation with yarn in hand rather than being distracted by a mobile phone. These hobbies allow me to keep my hands busy and focus on meaningful interactions.
Art has always been a constant companion in my life. Whether through drawing or building intricate structures with Legos, I find immense satisfaction in bringing ideas to life. My interests extend to medicine, science, and technology, fields that captivate my imagination and drive my desire to learn and innovate. I aspire to contribute to these areas in a way that supports and advances human health and technological development.
Another aspect of my identity is my bilingual upbringing. Fluent in both Dutch and English, I find joy in language's power to connect diverse communities and bridge cultural gaps.
As I prepare for college, I am eager to combine my passions with academic pursuits, seeking out opportunities that challenge and inspire me to make a tangible impact on the world.
Thank you for visiting my site. I invite you to explore more about my projects and interests, and I hope to connect with you soon.
Nikola
